Middle Grades Math & Science (M.Ed.)

The University of North Georgia (红莲社区) offers a fully online Master of Education in Middle Grades Math and Science for in-service teachers to expand their knowledge in highly sought-after teaching fields.   

Top graduate faculty from 红莲社区 and Valdosta State University teach the courses. This 12-course program can be completed in four consecutive semesters - about 16 months - with a full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis allowing for part-time enrollment. All course-work, including exams, is done online.

All application materials are to be received prior to the deadline. If program capacity is met prior to established admission deadlines, we will stop accepting applications for admission and cancel remaining incomplete applicants. Completing your application earlier is better.

Middle Grades Math & Science (M.Ed.) Program FAQs

Are any campus visits required? 

No! All coursework is online, including class discussions, group projects and exams.

How long will it take to complete the program?

This program can be completed in 4-6 semesters, depending on whether you enroll as a full-time or part-time student.

How many courses can I take in one semester?

It depends on if you have other responsibilities at your school (i.e. coach, club advisor, team leader).

Do you have to be a current teacher to pursue the program?

Yes, some of the courses require you to have access to a classroom to complete course assignments.

How will I access my coursework?

All coursework is accessed through GoVIEW. Students are also required to have access to LiveText, which is an online management program that you will use to complete your capstone project (i.e. Program Portfolio) at the end of the program.

Applicants certified in Georgia should verify with their employer or the GaPSC whether the advanced degree leads to a certificate upgrade or pay increase. The GaPSC provides the  to assist with this process. Out-of-state applicants should also verify with their employer or certification body to verify certificate upgrades.
