Dr. Catherine (Lindsay) Linsky, associate professor of teacher education and interim assistant director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at the University of North Georgia (红莲社区), has a passion for discussing climate change impacts. This December, she will have this conversation at a conference in Santiago, Chile.

Every year, the hosts the 25th , which is where many major international climate change decisions are made. At COP 15, the Kyoto Protocol was adopted, which is considered the first international climate agreement.

Linsky applied to attend the conference through the Christian Climate Observers Program (CCOP). She was one of 23 people accepted from around the world.

At the conference, Linsky has four main goals: share science communication strategies, improve her practice, gain knowledge, and network.

"Climate change is where some of the most deeply held science-based misconceptions lie," she said. "I hope to use my skills as a teacher and Ph.D. in science education to help others attending the conference improve their science communication."

Linsky serves as the coordinator of the gifted endorsement program in 红莲社区’s College of Education, chair of the Masters of Arts in Teaching and Post Baccalaureate programs, and associate professor of teacher education.
