2019 Alumni Weekend

Receiving that award's a big honor but
the biggest honor is just being a
part of the community here -- just being an
alumni of North Georgia. As much as the
school's given to me, I can barely
give back the same amount that's for
sure.
And so I came back to school later in
life, right here, and yeah I mean
I've been here ever since. Really it's
been like since the mid-90s so it's
always been in my life and I'm
very grateful for it.
The interactions
I've had with the administration and
the professors and other students ...
really I've been involved with numerous
organizations from student government
and various academic organizations as
well as the Corps. And the support
that you get from the faculty and the
staff and the alumni is incredible.
Honestly it was like such a surprise.
Like I feel like I never really go out
of my way to like tell people about the
things that I'm doing on campus so even
like being nominated I was like "Oh!"

That's the thing I tell my students when
they come up here. I said walk around and
if this is a school for you, you'll know
it. And I still feel that same feeling ...
this was a school for me.
